Housing society: LHC seeks reply from FDA, govt

Petitioner requests court to direct FDA to complete housing project

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday sought replies from the Punjab government and the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) on a petition about a housing colony.

The petitioner, Yasir Chaudhry, has claimed that the FDA did not carry out any development work in the Faisalabad City housing society which it had started developing in 2005. “The FDA announced that the housing colony will be developed by 2007. It will have 54 parks and an underground electricity supply system.

The authority generated Rs15 billion from the housing project. However, it has not fulfilled its promises. Even now, only roads are built in the housing society,” the petitioner said.

He said that the government had not posted a director general in the FDA for two years. “The Faisalabad DCO has the additional charge of the FDA,” he said.

The petitioner requested the court to direct the government and the FDA to complete the project.
