ISLAMABAD:

While welcoming the UN Security Council resolution on Yemen, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan would contribute to its implementation.

“We are confident that this [UN resolution] will be helpful in bringing in an early end to the ongoing difficult situation in Yemen,” remarked Premier Nawaz during his recent interview with Okaz, a Saudi gazette. He said the UNSC resolution adopted on April 14, which provides a framework for early resolution of the crisis in Yemen, was driven by the vision of the Saudi leadership.

“I’m saying once again that any aggression on Saudi Arabia will be dealt with strongly and effectively,” the prime minister reiterated.

About his visit to Riyadh, PM Nawaz said he affirmed to the Saudi leadership that any violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia would evoke a strong response from Pakistan.

“We will always stand with our Saudi brothers in their hour of need. Pakistan gives top priority to the Kingdom’s defence and security,” he added.

Dr.A.K.Tewari | 9 years ago | Reply is it due to personal friendship between Nawaz sharif and the king or a resolution passed in tne national assemblh of Pakistan .
Abacus | 9 years ago | Reply Sir, Pakistan is itself guilty of flouting UN Resolutions in Kashmir by not withdrawing troops from PoK and GB when it agreed to do so. Now you dont want to implement Shimla Agreement and Lahore Declaration also. What is your credibility?
