A festival for orphans was organised by Turkish and  Pakistani non-governmental organisation (NGOs) on Monday, said a press release issued here.

This year, as in the past, children from Pakistan attended the 37th International 23rd April Children’s Festival held by Turkish Radio and Television in Turkey.

The Turkish Grand National Assembly, which is the parliament of Turkey, first convened on 23rd April 1920. The day was dedicated to the children of the world. Every year festivities involving children are held in Turkey around this date.

Children also take seats of the President, Prime Minister, Governors and other office holders for the day, as an indication that they are the future of the country.
