Pakistan’s representative to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi invited Muhammad Ali Aamir, a student of Roots Metropolitan International University College to the Permanent Mission of Pakistan at the UN in New York.

Aamir is on a visit for a world recognised Model UN conference, held at UN Headquarters, where he has been appointed as the regional head of Pakistan and the Middle East region.

Lodhi welcomed Aamir along with 28 other students at the mission where she briefed them about Pakistan’s current stance on major global issues. She also gave a description about the formation of the UN and its main agenda, and highlighted the main committees of the UN and their role in their missions.

Ali appreciated his country decision on appointing the first woman as a permanent representative of Pakistan at the UN, saying: “It is a great development towards women empowerment which will motivate young women of the country to achieve such goals in their lives and serve the nation”.

The ambassador was impressed by the delegation’s experience at CWMUN 2015 and their aim to change the world’s perception about talent in Pakistan by partaking in such events.
