Nasir had to weather a strong challenge from Tayyab in the first game, won the second one easily and again broke through his opponent’s resistance to win by scores of 13-11, 11-2 and 11-9.
Farhan Zaman also claimed a 3-0 win against Sheikh Saqib Yousuf as he triumphed 11-8, 11-7 and 12-10 in 32 minutes, while left-handed Farhan Mehboob completed a resounding 3-0 victory over Danish Atlas Khan, who will be participating in the upcoming Asian Individual Championship.
Meanwhile, Danish’s elder sibling Aamir was given a scare by youngster Israr Ahmed, but eventually won the 41-minute battle 3-2.
Aamir — the defending Asian Champion who was not been picked up by the Pakistan Squash Federation to defend his title — won with scores of 11-8, 9-11, 11-6, 7-11 and 11-2.
