The bookworm in me
We must inculcate the habit of reading in our younger generation, for that will open up their minds
KARACHI:
This letter is in response to Saadia Qamar’s Speakers’ Corner “The bookworm in me”. I found the piece gratifying and heartwarming. It is always a pleasure to meet a bookworm. While we have our share of literature festivals and book stores, a love for books is deeper than that; it is a love for literature, a love for words that so many of us lack.
It is pleasing, however, to see so many dedicated students majoring in English at Karachi University. We must inculcate the habit of reading in our younger generation, for that will open up their minds. I hope our country produces more writers and most of all, more readers in the future.
