MUMBAI:
Actor Varun Dhawan, who recently visited the sets of Dance India Dance Super Moms along with co-star Shraddha Kapoor to promote their upcoming film ABCD 2, says Govinda has “spoilt” his father, director David Dhawan.

Varun and Shraddha met Govinda on the sets of the show and amazed the guests with their impeccable dance moves. On the show, Varun shared an incident when David was directing Varun in Main Tera Hero. After working with Govinda, his father would just not be satisfied with whatever Varun would deliver in the course of his shot and most of the times, he would end up saying, “That’s not how Govinda would have done it”, read a statement.

“Govinda sir has spoilt my dad. As an actor, he has set such high standards that it is extremely difficult to reach that level. After having worked with him in numerous blockbusters, my dad kept expecting the same perfection and madness that Govinda ji used to bring to his performances and dance moves.”

Govinda and David, who are known to be one of the best actor-director duos in Hindi filmdom, have worked together in films like Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Hero No. 1 and Do Knot Disturb.

Varun, who is a die-hard fan of Govinda and his dancing talent, says there is small homage to the comic star in his forthcoming film ABCD 2. “You will see Indian steps in the film and there is a small section in the film which pays homage to Govinda,” Varun said on Wednesday at the trailer launch of ABCD 2.

Talking about the time when Varun and Shraddha were children, Govinda said: “I am so proud to see both the kids coming for their movie promotions. Their fathers used to bring them on the sets when they were kids and now I am amazed to see how Shraddha has turned out to be so beautiful. They are super talented and I wish all the best for their future.”

Varun was enthralled to see the performances of the super moms. He also matched steps with Siddhesh on his dance number ‘Palat’ on the judges’ request.  Varun was left speechless after the performance of super mom Soumyashree after which, the celebrity duo joined her on stage, and danced on the song ‘Aa ante amalapuram’.

While shooting for the film, the actor learnt different forms of dancing and also did aerial silk, and seems happy about it. ABCD 2 is a sequel to Remo D’Souza’s 2013 dance-based 3D film ABCD - AnyBody Can Dance and also features Shraddha Kapoor, choreographer-director Prabhudheva and international dancer Lauren Gottlieb. It is slated to release on June 19.
