KARACHI: For the third time now, an anti terror court in Karachi issued death warrants on Friday  for murder convict Shafqat Hussain who is now to be hanged on May 6, Express News reported.

Shafqat was arrested and sentenced to death in 2004 for the alleged kidnapping and killing of a seven-year-old boy from an apartment building in Karachi where he was working as a guard.

According to his lawyers, Shafqat was aged 14 when he had allegedly murdered a child in 2001. He had been sentenced to death by an anti-terrorism court in 2004. President, Asif Ali Zardari, had also rejected his mercy petition in 2012.

A formal letter was also written by the interior ministry which asserted the 'underage' convict's execution to be halted for 30 days. A committee led by the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) recently concluded that Hussain was not juvenile at the time of conviction.

ATC-3 Judge Saleem Raza Baloch issued fresh death warrants today (Friday) and that the murder convict will be hanged on May 6 in Karachi Central Jail at 5:30am.

Lord of the Ring | 9 years ago | Reply Liberal fascists have used the case to tarnish Pakistan's image They maliciously distort the reality that this murderer of a little child was an adult when he butchered the child. All these liberal fascists should also be investigated for their squalid campaign. Express and express News did a great job by exposing this dirty scandal
