Talking to The Express Tribune, Ajez Anjum said the family was left confused and, moreover, scared by the murder of Amroz in February.
Ajez said his son was scheduled to go to London but was murdered a week before his departure.
“He was my first born and father of a five-year-old girl,” added Ajez. “He was killed and his body was dumped outside his house in Mohalla Islamabad, Gulbahar.”
Amroz was a computer engineer and, according to Ajez, the family had no enmity with anyone. However, Amroz had come close to death once before but had survived.
Freedom of religion
Ajez believes his son was murdered over his religion; Ajez and his family are Christians.
“I think Amroz was targeted because of his faith but the police are forcing us to nominate someone in the FIR in order to make some progress in the case,” he said. “We cannot name anyone as we do not know anything about the murderers.”
He said if the culprits are not arrested then his family and community will have no choice but to go for an all-out protest across the city.
His family now lives under the constant shadow of fear. “We have shifted from our small house in Mohalla Islamabad and moved to another place in another area for the security of our family members.”

Amroz was found dead in Gulbahar on February 4. He was shot and his body was dumped in a sewer outside his house.
Nearly a month before his murder, he had survived an assassination attempt in Hashtnagri where his vehicle was attacked.
