Doctors’ Demands: Tarakai to address medics’ concerns

The minister assured KTH medics that all their concerns will be addressed

PESHAWAR: Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai has assured doctors that the government is working on formulating a service structure for them, a demand the fraternity has been making for many months. While addressing the oath-taking ceremony of Khyber Teaching Hospital Doctors’ Union on Tuesday, Tarakai said the government is in the process of introducing radical reforms in the health sector that will increase its overall efficiency. He said the establishment of the independent monitoring unit and the introduction of biometrics will be followed by implementation of a service structure for doctors. He added the biometric attendance system will benefit both the health department employees and the government. The minister assured KTH medics that all their concerns will be addressed and urged them to forward their recommendations to the government.
