PESHAWAR: Describing the recent Pak-China agreements as “Punjab-China agreements”, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) MPA Bakht Baidar has said that all the signed projects would only benefit the province of the Sharif brothers.

“This is an agreement between Punjab and China and we have very little share in it,” Baidar said at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday.

He urged the people to abandon Punjab and Mianwali-based politicians and join hands with QWP chief Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao as “he is the only politician capable of giving Pukhtuns their due.”

Baidar alleged the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was prepared to conduct massive rigging in the local government polls with the help of the administration.

Baidar also said he and another party member Sultan Khan had been served show-cause notices for allegedly going against party policy and not voting for the QWP candidate during Senate polls.

“We were asked to reply and we did. An enquiry, led by Sherpao himself, has proved us innocent,” Baidar said. He added an enquiry is underway and those found violating party policy would be brought to surface.

“We appeared before the panel twice and answered questions. After a thorough inquiry, we were found innocent,” Khan explained. He added the party should continue its probe to identify party policy violators.
