Police Assistance Lines handled 35,304 cases in K-P

PAL DI Khan dealt with 10,560 queries; the highest in all districts

PESHAWAR:
The Police Assistance Lines (PAL) have handled 35,304 cases so far across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa since the service was launched in 2014.

The service was introduced by the provincial government to facilitate the general public in reaching out to the police department through an efficient, hassle-free system.


The first PAL was set-up at the West Cantt police station in Peshawar last year, to provide a one-window facility for the registration of FIRs, filing of reports, vehicle registration verification etc. Following the success in Peshawar, PALs were established across district headquarters in K-P.

According to data available with The Express Tribune, the highest number of cases was handled by the PAL DI Khan , which received a total of 10,560 queries. PAL Peshawar handled 9,645 cases, Mardan 10,331, Malakand 3,728, Bannu 1,010 and Kohat has dealt with 30 cases.
