Aseefa invites Maryam Nawaz, Reham Khan to join fight against polio

Aseefa emphasises need to address rehabilitation and care of polio victims, highlighting role of Rotary International

KARACHI: Rotary International Ambassador for Polio Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has invited Pakistan Muslim Leqague-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief's wife Reham Khan to join hands and help accelerate polio eradication programmes across the country.





A Pakistan Peoples Party statement issued on Thursday stated that Aseefa resolved to raise awareness regarding the debilitating disease and to reach across party boundaries to strengthen advocacy for polio eradication.

Earlier, she was briefed on the polio situation and met Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, the polio cell chairperson, provincial coordinator for polio and secretary health.

“While it’s important to address polio campaigns, it’s also import to address polio victims,” Aseefa tweeted later, highlighting that Rotary has been working towards this goal. “Packages for polio victims that Rotary provides include physiotherapy, surgery and rehabilitation.”

Abdullah | 8 years ago | Reply Charity begins at home. Kindly tell your father to remove Qaim Ali Shah and people like him who have destroyed the beautiful province of Sindh. They are the reason that plio spreads in Sindh and Pakistan.
K Alam | 8 years ago | Reply Dear Ms.Asifa, this is not the appropriate way to invite people for some cause, rather a publicity stunt. The better way could have been to meet them in personal or making a phone call or sending a letter or email.
