Know your army: Programme rivets scores

Several University of Management and Technology (UMT) students and faculty members and Civil Services Academy women probationers on Wednesday spent a day with troops from the Lahore Garrison.


The initiative had been taken to impart self-defence training to the participants and acquaint them with the operational readiness of Pakistan Army under the Know Your Army programme. Those present on the occasion witnessed a mock anti-terrorist demonstration by personnel from the Quick Reaction Force. The participants commended the agility and fighting prowess of the Light Commando Battalion. They were also imparted technical knowledge of handling weapons and small arm firing skills. The day-long programme concluded with a flag-lower ceremony at the Ganda Singh border. The students were enthralled by the smart turnout and impeccable drills of Rangers. They showed immense interest in the programme and lauded the professionalism and resolve of the army. The Know Your Army programme has been initiated to enhance the morale, motivation and confidence of youngsters in the military.
