Rights of minorities

Pakistan has always considered religious minorities to be inferior to the majority

ISLAMABAD: Since independence, Pakistan has always considered religious minorities to be inferior to the majority. As it happened, a few days ago, while celebrating their religious festival in their own traditional way, some Hindu students were arrested by the police in Jamshoro.

After reading this news, several question popped up in my mind. Why were the students arrested? What was their crime or is there a new law that requires minorities to be arrested if they celebrate their religious events? If this is not the case, then why are they facing this discrimination? On the other hand, if we go through the Constitution of Pakistan, then we come to know that there is freedom for the minorities to live and enjoy liberty and celebrate their religious festivals. But the laws seem to have been neglected. It is the incapability of the authorities concerned that they have failed to protect them and failed to ensure the provision of their rights according to the Constitution of Pakistan.
