LAHORE: Lahore High Court issued a notice to the federal government on Tuesday on a petition seeking a directive to stop operation of the judicial commission formed to probe electoral rigging.

Advocate AK Dogar of the Lawyers’ Foundation for Justice has moved the application in his already pending petition challenging the General Elections 2013 Inquiry Commission Ordinance 2015.

Dogar said the commission had been formed in violation of the Constitution. The impugned ordinance was not only in violation of Article 225 of the Constitution but also a result of use of force, he said.
