Industry-academia liaison is imperative to develop the industrial sector on modern scientific lines and the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) is planning to arrange an international conference to bridge the existing gap in Pakistan, said FCCI President Rizwan Ashraf.
He said that all over the world, academia leads industries, but in Pakistan it is the other way around.
“Major industrial units in Punjab have state-of-the-art machinery supported with reliable research and development departments,” he said. “These units are doing well but the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector is unable to take the lead because of its inherent financial constraints.
