KARACHI: Sindh Rangers claimed on Tuesday that as many as 53 weapons seized during last month’s raid on Khursheed Memorial Hall near Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine Zero were unlicensed.

According to a statement, a total of 124 weapons, including LMGs, SMGs, M-4, G3s, repeaters and pistols were recovered from the Hall during the March 11 raid.

The statement said that licenses for 107 weapons provided to Rangers were found genuine, whereas 36 of the licenses did not match with the respective weapons.

Further, licenses for 17 of the seized arms were not provided, taking the number of unlicensed weapons to 53.

Verification of genuine licenses from the Home Department is currently under process, added the statement.

On March 11, Rangers raided the MQM headquarters Nine-Zero and its adjoining areas, arresting dozens of activists – including ‘convicted criminals’ – and ‘seizing a huge quantity’ of weapons.

numbersnumbers | 9 years ago | Reply @Hasan: Wow, So a "political party" has a legitimate need for LMGs (belt/box fed light machine guns!), SMGs (sub-caliber clip fed machine guns!), and M-4s / G-3s (select fire rifle caliber Assault Rifles!)!!
