The team left for India on Sunday to compete in the tournament which is featuring, hosts India, led by Sania Mirza, Sri Lanka, Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Philippines, Pacific Oceania and Singapore.

The 12 teams will be divided into four groups and the winners of each group will play the final of the zone in hopes of being promoted to Asia-Oceania Zone Group I.

According to Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) secretary Khalid Rehmani, the first choice for the women’s team was Sara Mahboob, who won the inaugural Kulsoom Saifullah National Championship earlier this year.
