KARACHI:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to hold its rally and public meeting on April 19 on Sharae Pakistan instead of Jinnah Ground.

The decision came after the PTI core committee meeting on Saturday, keeping in view the Election Commission of Pakistan's order to shut down all political activities 48 hours before the polling day.

Addressing a press conference, PTI candidate for NA-246 by-poll, Imran Ismail, said that the venue had been changed from the Jinnah Ground to Sharae Pakistan 'as it [Sharae Pakistan] is wide enough' to gather the 'huge' number of party supporters.

According to Ismail, he has been assured by Central SSP Noman Siddiqui that the PTI will be facilitated by the police wherever they want to hold their gathering except for Jinnah Ground.

He added that PTI chief Imran Khan will be in Karachi on April 18 and will visit those areas of NA-246, which he could not on April 9.

On a question regarding Nabeel Gabol's entry in the procession, Ismail said that he had no idea about that.
