Gunned down: Man killed for holding jirga for LG polls

The jirga was organised to select candidates for the local government elections

SWABI: A man was reportedly killed by two people for holding a jirga to select candidates for the local government polls in Zarobi, Swabi on Saturday. Amir Daraz, a resident of Zarobi, told Topi police his brother Gul Daraz Khan had organised a jirga at his hujra to select candidates for the local government elections in the area. However, this displeased another resident of the area, Shireen Zada, and his brother Muhammad Zada, who allegedly gunned down Gul when he was near his house. Topi police station SHO Qamar Zaman started searching for the accused and later arrested them from Dhok Road.
