Ayyan Ali to provide further evidence in Rawalpindi court

RAWALPINDI: Model Ayyan Ali was presented in a court in Rawalpindi this morning to attend a hearing pertaining to the ongoing money laundering case, Express News reported Saturday.

She was presented in court today where she requested to provide evidence in her defence, to which the court agreed.

All the statements and claims made by Ayyan in the hearing, which is currently underway, were ordered by the court to be recorded.

There was strict security outside the court as the model arrived and she is appearing in court for the several counts of money laundering.

Arrested on March 14 by customs officials, Ayyan was found with $500,000 in her luggage which she later claimed she had obtained after selling her properties.

The police always goes after the kingpin of the racketeering bosses whether drugs or money laundering, the mules are a small cog in the vast criminal activity. If she has not committed any other crimes in the past then she should be released but should do some community work. Go after those who are corrupt and amassing billions abroad, what about the prime minister and some of the Parliament members who has not paid their fair share of income taxes to Pakistan's treasury, this is also a criminal act. The elite class of Pakistan is involved in all sort of corruption and it all starts from the top to bottom. So clean up your house and don't be talking about justice. The Sharif brothers made a deal with terrorist to spare Punjab but the rest of Pakistan is OK to be killing field, it was racial as well as saving their investments in politics. Tell me if this does not border on criminality but there are still there and no one could or don't want to do anything about it.

Observer | 9 years ago | Reply The "evidence" is not about the circumstances in which she was caught (those are fairly well-established as she was caught red-handed) ---- but the people she was laundering money for, the reason her father was shot (in the FIR he nominated Rehman Malik and his brother), etc. The game plan is that she helps the authorities catch the big fish as well.

deeds | 9 years ago | Reply What happened to the CCTV footage from the Airport at the time of her arrest? Maybe the airport authorities are delaying it and will later say that the data is now too old to be retrieved!

Neutralist | 9 years ago | Reply Why to find evidences ? she was caught red handed. Its not about ownership of the money but the crime she commited. If she is released by the court by merely providing the evidence of ownership of money without imprisonment for the crime she committed, it would be unjust on the part of judiciary.
