"Contesting elections is the right of every individual," he said, adding that it does not matter who controls the land.
NA-246 and Jinnah Ground is thought to be a stronghold on the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
Earlier, the PTI was reconsidering even holding a rally on account of narrow entry and exit points, which could cause problems for supporters.
On April 9, PTI chairman Imran Khan was in Karachi to kick-off the election campaign. He made a brief address to supporters at the Jinnah Ground, prior to which a clash erupted between PTI and MQM workers.
