KARACHI: The SHO of the alFalah police station, Malik Jahan Khan, was suspended for negligence on Thursday. Police officials said that a senior civil judge of the Malir Courts, Sikandar Ameer, was on his way to the court when at least three men were looting passers-by near Malir Rafi Bungalows. Ameer’s security guard tried to intervene and stop the robbers. According to the suspended SHO, the culprits opened fire at the guard, who fired back in retaliation. The culprits, however, managed to escape. Following the incident, Karachi AIG Ghulam Qadir Thebo suspended Khan for negligence in curbing street crime and failure to ensure security arrangements on the route of the judges.
