Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday told “other” parties not to gloat over Karachi’s improving law and order situation in an apparent reference to Imran Khan’s claims that his party had ended “the sense of fear” in Karachi.

The PM went on to add that only the government could credit for the security situation in the metropolitan city.

Ahead of his visit to Karachi on Wednesday, Imran Khan had claimed they have broken the shackles of fear of residents of Karachi.

However, perturbed by his statement, PM Nawaz claimed, “People who are trying to take credit for removing fear from Karachi don’t know what we have done for Karachi.”

“We ended extortion, kidnapping for ransom and target killings in Karachi,” he added, referring to the Karachi operation.

Nawaz added, “Karachi is progressing toward development and this is our service for Pakistan.”

Nawaz went on to say, “Pakistan needs visionary leadership, not one which takes U-turns.”

The prime minister further said his ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government has worked ‘tirelessly’ for all provinces despite rule of other party’s government in the provinces.

“This is not PML-N’s or Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan alone, this is everyone’s Pakistan,” he said.

“Without thinking which party is the ruling party we served the provinces and asked them for help.”

Nawaz further said, Balochistan’s security situation has improved as well now after the government decided to work with them. However, he claimed Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where PTI is the ruling party has seen no change.

“Where is the revolution in K-P?” the prime minister questioned.

The prime minister was in Haripur to inaugurate the Hazara motorway and promised the residents of more development projects to come.
