KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) are soon going to pen down a three-ODI and two-T20 series which will take place in Karachi and Lahore next month, reported Press Trust of India (PTI).

A senior PCB official was quoted as saying by PTI that the board is waiting for a final confirmation from the ZCU over the tentative itinerary they had sent for the series.

"They had asked for a security plan for the series and we have also sent them that," said the official.

"We are now expecting them to give final confirmation when PCB Chairman, Shaharyar Khan meets with his ZCU counterpart on the sidelines of the ICC meeting this month."

Under the proposed schedule, two ODI and a T20 will be played in Lahore while Karachi will host a single ODI and T20.

Zimbabwe, if agrees to the aforementioned schedule, will become the first Test playing nation after since 2009 to visit the country for a series. Bangladesh also cancelled a tour to Pakistan in 2012 due to security concerns.

"This time we are getting positive vibes from the ZCU and hopefully this series will be played onwards from mid-May immediately after the Pakistan team returns from Bangladesh," said the official.

"He said that the PCB had prepared and sent a comprehensive security plan to the ZCU for the series after consultations with the government.

"We are also negotiating with two associate member nations to send their teams to Pakistan including the Netherlands," he added.

US CENTCOM | 9 years ago | Reply That's great news for Pakistan! I hope the tour is finalized and everything goes safe and secure. It will certainly encourage other teams to reconsider their decision. Pakistani fans have long been deprived of watching international matches at home, and this is a great start.
