Grain Matters: Three officials suspended

A team of officials was sent for an inquiry that confirmed the absence of the bags in its report

KHAIRPUR: The secretary of the food department suspended the heads of three wheat storage centres on Wednesday, following reports of 7,000 missing wheat bags. The Sindh government took notice of the wheat bags missing from the Khairpur food department. A team of officials was sent for an inquiry that confirmed the absence of the bags in its report. As a result, Drib assistant food controller Mehar Shah Ali Hassan Sangi, Kotdiji assistant food controller Ali Muhammad Meerjat and Gambat food supervisor Sayed Mazhar Ali Shah were suspended.
