Will register case against MQM chief if anything happens to PTI workers: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan said on Wednesday that he will register a case against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain if his party workers are harmed during the campaign for NA-246 by-elections, Express News reported.

Addressing the media outside his house in Bani Gala, Imran said he will be leaving for Karachi tonight to start campaigning for the by-polls scheduled to be held on April 23.

“Despite security concerns, I will go to Karachi,” the PTI chairperson said.

The NA-246 constituency is hustling and bustling due to the by-election scheduled for April 23. On April 4, MQM workers had allegedly attacked a PTI election camp in Karimabad and set the party flag on fire.

Speaking about the electoral rigging in 2013 general elections, Imran said since 1979, all elections have been rigged.

“The formation of the judicial commission is a big achievement for Pakistan,” he added.

With regards to Pakistan joining the Saudi-led military campaign in Yemen, the PTI chairperson said Pakistan should not send troops to the war-torn country.

M Saleem Chaudhry | 9 years ago | Reply If one evaluates the comments on this brief objectively,one can find how deeply indoctrinated ethnic followers manipulate and misrepresent the ground realities and there are more than enough to endorse to prove that to be actual fact. This is how the games are played to retain statusqo. However this can't go on for ever. The Engines of change like Imran Khan can transform the situation.

PTI has absolutely failed to give an alternative vision for Karachi. If I have to go against mqm, I would go for JI in any elections then these clueless clowns of PTI who have no bearing of Karachi's issues.

Khurram | 9 years ago | Reply Imran Khan knows that his party will get routed by the MQM in any seat in Karachi, and unless he has guarantees from the ISI and army for a victory, I don't know what else besides embarrassment the PTI will get out of this. In fact, the raids on nine zero and the upcoming 246 election has done nothing but revived the MQM Mohajir vote bank. Believe it or not, MQM is more popular now in Karachi than it was 5 years ago.

MJ | 9 years ago | Reply Imran Khan is all about ego. He does not have any principle and has gone back on his sworn statements and plans of action so many times he has lost all credibility. I was once looking up to him as an alternative to the stagnant and stale Pakistani political scene. But all he has proven himself to be is part of a pressure group that the establishment uses against PMLN, MQM etc.

karachite | 9 years ago | Reply The good thing with PTI in Karachi that it WAS very likable and very good alternative to MQM, as there wasn’t any other alternative party that most Karachites will vote for after MQM in the past. But after seeing Imran Khan immaturity it’s really hard for me who once voted for PTI to vote again for the same party, constantly trying to make conflict, and seriously you will run a rally at 7 pm and block roads when everyone is getting off work. SERIOUSLY Think of the people of Karachi before running a rally during weekdays when people are getting off work. Regards, PERSON WHO LIVES IN KARACHI
