ISLAMABAD: A local high court has sought details from Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Polyclinic top official and senior superintendent of Islamabad police SSP in a case involving an alleged illegal appointment at the hospital.

The court has sought report regarding allegations levelled against the deputy executive director of the hospital concerning fake degree and illegal appointment.

According to the documents available with The Express Tribune, the human rights cell of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has written to the CADD secretary, SSP and Polyclinic ED to submit a report related to the allegation leveled against Dr Fayyaz Sheikh, deputy executive director of the hospital.

The complaint was lodged by Shahzad Asif Javed, a member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Talking to The Express Tribune, one of the officials from the media team of the hospital on condition of anonymity said that in February the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had sought report from the head of Polyclinic about Dr Sheikh’s appointment allegedly in violation of rules and his involvement in corruption.

The hospital administration had submitted all the required documents to the FIA, the official said adding the FIA directed the Polyclinic ED to send Dr Sheikh’s educational degrees to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for verification but he had not yet followed up despite several reminders.

“He is just sitting in his office,” said the official.

When contacted, CADD Secretary Khalid Hanif claimed that it was actually an ongoing personal dispute between the hospital ED, Zahid Hussian and Dr Sheikh, which was bringing a bad name to the institute.

He suggested that the senior staff of the hospital should focus on “actual work” as such matters diverted their focus.

Hanif further claimed that the degrees of Dr Sheikh had been tempered with by someone for some vested interest.

“Necessary action will be taken according to the final report of the FIA,” he said.

When contacted, Dr Sheikh was not available for comment.
