Healthcare: ‘A leave a month for emergency staff’

He made the decision while chairing a meeting

LAHORE: Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital Principal Anjum Habib Vohra said on Sunday the staff at emergency ward of the hospital would not be allowed to avail more than one casual leave in a month. He made the decision while chairing a meeting that reviewed medical facilities being provided to patients, security, cleanliness and repair of medical equipment. It was decided that a special medical committee would decide on the request of those applying for more than one leaves a month. The principal ordered that appropriate arrangements be made to fight dengue fever. The meeting decided that administrative doctors and nurses would not be allowed to leave the hospital between 8am and 3pm. Participants agreed that any fault in the medical equipment should be immediately reported to the medical superintendent.
