Jirga discusses law and order in Bannu

Expresses concern over recent toy bomb explosions in the district that led to two casualties

BANNU: A jirga of Bannu elders, police and political leaders discussed matters pertaining to law and order at Saddar police station on Sunday.

ASP Riaz, transporters’ leader Malik Maqbool Zaman Haider and several others were present on the occasion.

Participants expressed concern over the recent toy bomb explosions in the district that led to two casualties. They urged law-enforcement agencies to conduct thorough checks along the banks of Kurram River.

Announcements were also made through loudspeakers, asking people not to touch suspicious objects that they find in the streets and inform the police right away. Bomb disposal unit teams have also launched search operations in the area.
