He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the third International Medical Education and Research Conference held at Khyber Medical University (KMU) in Hayatabad. Principals and faculty of public and private medical and dental colleges, medical educationists, experts and a large number of participants were present on the occasion. Shahzada said the government is fully committed towards fostering growth in the sector and will continue to divert funds and redesign governance structures of colleges.
In his welcome address, KMU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Hafizullah said the varsity takes pride in leading public sector medical education and promoting a research culture within the academia. Hafizullah said the conference will provide healthcare professionals with an environment to share their research and learn from the experiences of fellow experts of medicine. Dr Gohar Wajid from Dammam University, Saudi Arabia, Khyber Medical College Principal Professor Dr Ijaz Hassan Khattak and others also spoke at the ceremony.
