RAWALPINDI:


A five-day polio vaccination drive in Rawalpindi district concluded on Saturday.


A total of 750,793 children under five years of age were immunised during the drive, which targeted the entire district.


A total of 1,696 polio teams took part in the campaign, which was held in all tehsils and towns.


Health Executive District Officer (EDO) Dr Khalid Randhawa said that the campaign has achieved the target set for the drive.


Randhawa and officials of the health department visited various areas of the district and monitored the campaign.


Polio teams went door to door to administer the drops in city as well as the rural areas.


The health department had also deployed teams at the entry and exit points of the cities, towns and other fixed points such as bus and railway stations.
