The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued warnings of heavy rains across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday (today) and Sunday.


According to PDMA spokesperson Latif Rehman, the department has received weather updates from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). “Heavy rains and thunderstorm are expected in Malakand Division, Hazara Division, Peshawar and Mardan,” he said.


A hailstorm is also expected in some parts of Hazara, Kohat and Peshawar, the spokesperson added.


“District administrations are requested to be on high alert to avoid any loss of lives and damage to property,” said Rehman.


“Moreover, we have informed people who live near rivers and mountainous areas about the possibility of floods and landslides.”
