Patron’s Trophy Grade II: K-Electric, Khyaban-e-Amin reach semis

Remaining two last-four spots to be decided on Friday.

KARACHI: K-Electric and Khyaban-e-Amin confirmed their semi-final berths after winning their fifth round fixtures of the Patron’s Trophy Grade II on Thursday.

Shahzaib Ahmed took ten wickets in two innings to help K-Electric defeat Sindh Police by an innings and 16 runs, while unbeaten centuries by Yasir Jamal (114) and Shakeel Ahmed (150) along with Ali Moazam’s five wickets guided Khyaban-e-Amin to victory over Service Industries by an innings and 72 runs.

Dollar East also won their match against Income Tax by an innings and 98 runs, but were unable to overhaul Khyaban-e-Amin for the top spot their group, resulting in their failure to qualify for the last-four. Customs defeated Medicam by an innings and 82 runs to finish third.

Meanwhile, Navy were batting their second innings on 108-1 with a lead of 142 runs over Saudi Cricket and Nadra were on 70-2, trailing Omar Associates by 69 runs.

Elsewhere, Army were batting on 296-7 in reply to CDA’s 205, Asim Textile need 412 runs to win against Railways, Candy Land were trailing KPT by 15 runs and HEC declared their second innings on 275-6, giving a target of 382 runs to Face Fresh.
