Death Row: Convict to be hanged on 31st

SARGODHA: A murder convict is scheduled to be executed at Sargodha Jail on March 31. Police said Muhammad Riaz and his accomplice Muhammad Khan had killed two people during a bank robbery in Choa Saidan. Jail officials said so far 188 prisoners in Sargodha Jail and 188 in Shahpur Jail had been issued death warrants. They will be executed at the newly constructed gallows in Sargodha Jail, they said. Jail Superintendent Deputy Waheed Khan has written to the high-ups to send an executioner for the scheduled hanging. He said an executioner will be sent from Lahore.
