Media role: Newspapers urged to promote counter terrorism narrative

Newspapers have been asked to carry more content favouring efforts to root out terrorism from the country.


Sindh Information Secretary Dr Zulfiqar Ali Shallwani urged the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) to publish more content against terrorism. Shallwani was chairing a meeting of the media committee set up for the implementation of the National Action Plan.


APNS secretary General Sarmad Ali was present in the meeting that was attended by the representatives of the home department, Rangers, Press Information Department and Pemra. Sarmad Ali assured all-out support of APNS members in the implementation of NAP. Shallwani said concerted efforts were needed in the fight against extremists and terrorists.
