Sindh celebrates Sindh Culture Day

Cultural exhibitions held; chief minister to inaugurate official Sindhi encyclopedia.

KARACHI:
Sindh is celebrating the ‘Sindhi Topi Day’ or Sindh Culture Day today (Saturday) with a colourful display of culture on the streets of the province.

Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah has announced a provisional holiday on this occasion.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has also announced its support for the Sindh Culture Day and will be celebrating at the party’s headquarters, Nine Zero, reports Express 24/7 correspondent Shehryar Mirza. Awami National Party (ANP) will also be celebrating the day.


According to Mirza, a rally has been organised in Karachi which will be taken out from Regal Chowk and will go all the way to the Press Club, where Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) representatives will be speaking to the media.

Different cultural exhibitions are taking place across the city and Sindh Chief Minister will also be inaugurating the official Sindh encyclopedia.

The Sindhi Cap is regarded as one of the most essential parts of the Sindhi culture and is usually offered to guests, along with a traditional Sindhi Ajrak, as a token of respect.
