Waziristan, Khyber ops: 80 terrorists killed in current phase, says ISPR

Maj Gen Bajwa says operation to clear areas close to Pak-Afghan border has made steady progress.

RAWALPINDI: The chief military spokesman said on Saturday that 80 terrorists had been killed and 100 injured during the current phase of military operations in North Waziristan and Khyber tribal regions.

“Seven soldiers also embraced Shahadat (martyrdom) valiantly” in operations Zarb-e-Azab and Khyber-2 during this period, Maj Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, the director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on microblogging site Twitter.

The military spokesperson said the operation to clear areas close to Pakistan-Afghanistan border has made steady progress and heavy losses had been inflicted on terrorists.

In Khyber Agency, terrorists are being dislodged from their mountainous bases and they are fleeing to the border, he said, adding that the ongoing operations would continue with full force till the elimination of terrorists from these areas.
