PML-Q member seeks protection from court

KARACHI: The hearing of a constitutional petition filed by an executive council member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) against alleged political victimisation by the ruling political party was put off indefinitely by a division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday.

The petitioner, Baboo Ghulam Sarwar Sial, maintains that due to political enmity, the Bakrani police lodged fake cases against his cousins, Muhammad Siddique Sial, Ustad Azmatullah Sial, Ustad Ghulam Farooq Sial, Muhammad Ramzan Sial and Roshan Sial. The cases have been lodged to harass political opponents, the petitioner maintains, seeking protection by the court. On Friday, the bench, comprising Chief Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Salman Hamid, adjourned for later.
