Probing May 2013 elections 'major achievement' for Pakistan, says Imran

PTI chief say investigation should be carried out against all existing armed groups, including MQM

First time in history of Pakistan that an investigation would be carried out to probe the allegations of rigging.

BANNU: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief, Imran Khan said on Saturdat that the formation of a new judicial commission to probe rigging allegations during the May 2013 general elections is a 'major achievement' for Pakistan.

Speaking to the press on his arrival in Bannu, the PTI chief said that this was the first time in the history of Pakistan that an investigation would be carried out to probe the allegations of rigging conducted in the general elections in May 2013.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, flanked by PTI vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and PTI General Secretary Jahangir Tareen, announced the formation of the judicial commission during a press conference in Islamabad on March 20.

"I want to congratulate all Pakistanis. It is because of all our sit-ins and protests that we have gained such an achievement. We will bring forward our evidence and the people of Pakistan will see the development," he said.

PTI chief said following the APS attack, all political parties had a conference and it was decided that no armed groups would be allowed in the country. Imran added that investigation should be carried out against existing armed groups, including MQM.

Imran also promised to bring a new education and heath system in Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa (K-P).

"We are bringing a new system for schools and hospitals in K-P."
