Angry mob burnt two men to death after twin explosions outside churches killed 17 people

LAHORE: As the country continues to mourn the victims of Lahore church bombings, IG Punjab on Friday said police were close to identifying suspects involved in lynching and burning of two men, Express News reported.  

An angry mob burnt two men to death after twin explosions outside churches in the city’s Youhanabad neighbourhood killed 17 people and 70 others injured.

Investigations are underway, however, the IG said key evidence related to the blasts has been recovered.

Thousands of Christian protesters took to the streets of Lahore and clashed with the police in protest.

The IG said police have taken every possible step to quell tensions in the aftermath of the attack and the lynching.
