ABBOTABAD: The police arrested a constable for allegedly raping a teenage boy. The medical report confirmed the child had been sodomised, said the City police.

City police quoted Irfan*, a 13-year-old ninth grader at a private school, as saying that he was going back home on Tuesday afternoon when constable Adil from Jinnahabad police post stopped him. Irfan said Adil took him to a private residence at Kuchehri Road. The accused, according to the complainant, molested Irfan* and raped him at gunpoint, and then threw him out of the house before fleeing.

Officers said a medical examination confirmed the rape. The police registered a criminal case against the constable under Section 377 of the Pakistan Penal Code and arrested Adil. Section 377 penalises voluntary non-heterosexual intercourse.

Five-year-old raped

A minor boy was also sodomised in a remote village of Haripur on Thursday.

Police said five-year-old Kadir* from Dobandi went to a village shop where Omar, from the same village, took him inside a cattle pen. Once inside, Omar raped Kadir, which was later confirmed by the medical examiner.

A criminal case was registered against the accused who was arrested. In this instance as well, the accused was charged with Section 377. The Pakistan Penal Code constitutes rape as an act in which a man has intercourse with a woman without her consent, against her will or if she is 16 years of age or younger. No section in the PPC directly deals with the rape of a male by the same sex.
