ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday denied reports that all the PTI office-bearers were dismissed in line with the recommendation of a report, compiled by an investigation commission headed by Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed

“The report, compiled by Justice (retd) Ahmed, is under consideration, but decision is yet to be taken” said PTI Information Secretary Dr Shireen Mazari in a statement.

The PTI chief Imran Khan had constituted the commission to investigate allegations of rigging in intra-party elections of 2012. The statement confirmed that the commission had recommended dissolving all the committees.

“Chairman Imran Khan has convened a consultative meeting with senior leadership of the party on March 22 [Sunday] to discuss findings of the report,” Mazari added.

She also clarified that secretary general and chairman of the party could dissolve the party office bearers.  Media reports suggested that the party was trying to hush up the findings of the commission that declared intra-party elections as fraudulent.
