A woman driver accused of hitting 14 people, of whom two died, as she was trying to escape a riot a day after Youhanabad blasts was granted an interim bail on Wednesday.
She was directed to cooperate with the police team investigating the incident and appear before the court at the next hearing on March 24.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Mian Shehzad Raza also summoned the complainants in the FIR registered against her for manslaughter and the investigation team.
Petitioner Maryam Safdar submitted that the case registered against her was based on malafide. She said nothing in particular had been attributed to her in the FIR and therefore she should be granted pre-arrest bail. She assured the court that she would cooperate with the investigating team.
The FIR registered by Hameed Masih had stated that a car driven by Safdar hit and killed two people, including his son Amir Hameed, and injured 12 others.
The other deceased was identified as Danish Shehbaz. The injured included Khalid Bashir, Haroon, Aman, Shamaoon, Abid, Aqeel, Amir, Tanveer, Riaz, Ansar, and Haneef.
