SUKKUR:

The Ghotki police have yet to register an FIR for the murder of a seven-year-old girl who was killed allegedly for her gold earrings on Sunday.

The body of a girl, Amna, was found from a middle school in Shaban Lashari village near Mirpur Mathelo. She had gone missing while playing outside her residence in the rain on Saturday evening. Her family initially thought she had gone to visit relatives in the neighbourhood but began looking for her when she didn't return. Her father, Noor Hassan Lashari, informed the police, who found her body in a school on Sunday. According to the police, Amna was murdered for her gold earrings, which were missing.

The police have still not registered an FIR for the murder. Talking to the media, Noor alleged that the police did not want to implicate the culprits. However, sub-inspector Muhammad Dawood refuted this claim. "On the one hand, the father does not want to register an FIR against unidentified men but, on the other, he is not ready to give us the names of the culprits." The police have arrested two suspects, namely Mir Hassan Lashari and Abdul Sattar Lashari, with the help of sniffer dogs.
