PESHAWAR: University of Peshawar Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Rasul Jan said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Murad Saeed’s degree case was the result of an administrative error and that the issue was blown out of proportion.

He was addressing a two-day arts and science exhibition at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) on Wednesday. Dr Jan said such delays in issuance of degrees occur due to changes in SoPs. “Now that the case is sub-judice, I cannot comment on its status,” he said.

The UoP VC said SBBWU has made its mark in a very short time and has emerged as a leading institute of higher learning.

He appreciated the efforts of the varsity’s administration for putting together the exhibition as part of the commemoration of International Women’s Day. University students set up various stalls of science projects, books, hand-woven cloth and other items of cultural significance.

While addressing the participants, SBBWU VC Professor Dr Razia Sultana said programmes like these will provide opportunities to female students at par with their male counterparts.
