ISLAMABAD: The CDA has decided to construct new parking plazas in addition to ensuring timely completion of two under-construction parking plazas in Sector F-7.

Under the programme, besides adding new parking plazas in busy business centres, the existing parking lots available in these areas would be extended by creating additional parking spaces.

This was decided in a meeting held on Tuesday to review progress on active development projects and repair and maintenance work in the capital. It was also decided that the authority would ensure timely completion of all ongoing development projects and also explore new avenues of development.

The meeting was apprised of developmental work on the Park Enclave housing scheme and expressed satisfaction over the pace of work, including work on two tube wells and two underground water tanks.  Construction of one culvert and two overhead tanks is near completion, the participants were informed.

Around 75 per cent of work on the roads of park enclave’s housing project has also been completed. Construction work on two parking plazas in F-7 Markaz is also under way.

Rehabilitation work on different roads, which were either affected by the recent rains or by the construction work on Islamabad’s Section of the Metro Bus Project, is also being carried out.

Repair and maintenance work on Margalla Road has been initiated, while maintenance of the remaining roads is also in progress. In addition, lane-marking and streetlight repairs are also being carried out.
