Speaking at the CFO Conference 2015 organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) here on Tuesday, financial expert Fakir Syed Aijazuddin said CFOs act as regulators as well as facilitators within their organisation while trying to protect the interests of all stakeholders.
In the first of the two-part CFO Conference, experts stressed upon the importance of good governance and excellence through renewed strategic, operational and reporting roles in the corporate sector. More than 800 CFOs, heads of multinational companies and state enterprises and business leaders attended the moot.
Reflecting on the conference’s theme of “Sustaining excellence, shifting gears,” ICAP President Yacoob Suttar said ICAP was reaching out to members in the industry and providing them with a platform to discuss, debate, and seek pragmatic solutions to emerging business and financial issues.
Globally renowned public-speaking guru Dananjaya J Hettiarachchi of the Toastmasters International gave an inspirational talk on “I see something in you” and eloquently engaged CFOs in an interactive session. In a separate session on “Communication with Impact,” Hettiarachchi shed light on how communication strategies can lead to better relationships, increased influence and improved leadership brands.
