KARACHI:
Ahead of a polio drive in Karachi, the government of Sindh on Monday extended a ban on pillion riding for another seven days.
The ban was extended till March 23 with effect from Tuesday 12am due to the threat to polio workers in Karachi.
The Sindh home ministry issued the notification regarding the ban after Karachi police chief requested to ensure the smooth running of the campaign.
The campaign was halted last year due to deadly attacks on the polio teams in Qayyumabad, Banaras, Baldia and Saeedabad.
